Studio Bad Ass Old Gal is a creative rebellion.

Rooted in healing, reinvention, and unapologetic self-expression, the Studio was founded by Michelle Thomas, BFA, and born during the pandemic as a return to painting amid burnout and recovery. What began as a personal lifeline evolved into a larger mission: creating bold, intuitive abstract work that makes people feel seen, heard, and connected.

Known for curvilinear forms and saturated color, the work echoes movement, memory, and freedom. Each piece is painted instinctively, then titled with language centered on humanity, vulnerability, and resilience.

 

Studio Bad Ass Old Gal's founder, Michelle Thomas, has been featured in Canvas Rebel, shown at Spotlight on Art, and presented in multiple major exhibitions, including a solo show at South Fulton Arts. Blending rebellion with tenderness, the studio transforms raw emotion into luxury abstract art.
